Welcome to our Mental Health Interns Program!

Are you interested in joining our team of professionals making a difference in mental health throughout Coastal Georgia?

Student Internship Program

This program is for graduate students seeking either an internship site or practicum placement.

What do we offer

Training

We offer both in person and online opportunities for graduate students to learn about mental health assessments, counseling theories and techniques, administrative duties, and networking.

Supervision

Our director, Mieke Kramer, LPC, CPCS provides the required supervision hours needed by most programs to accommodate interns.

These positions are all non-paid positions and require completion of appropriate forms and approval by graduate program directors.

Clinician-in-Training Program

This program is for post-graduate students who are seeking licensure in the state of Georgia. Clinicians need to be pre-licensed or seeking licensure to qualify for this program.

What do we offer

Training

We offer a supportive environment for learning different approaches to counseling. We provide opportunities for clinicians to develop their “niches” in the field of counseling. We have counselors who specialize with play therapy, eating disorders, EMDR, and other specialities to enhance your learning experience.

Supervision

Mieke Kramer, LPC, CPCS is a certified professional counselor supervisor in the state of Georgia and offers her services to all Suns Up pre-licensed clinicians.

Team Building

Our team of clinicians at Suns Up provide a thriving and encouraging place to grow your skills and be creative while challenged at the same time to meet your goals as a clinician.

These positions are all paid clinical positions and will depend on the in-office locations that have openings.

  • Claire

    As social media manager, Claire is passionate about using her creativity for a purpose. She is in charge of all social media accounts and the visual aspect of Suns Up. Her hope is to bring a sense of encouragement to those scrolling through Suns Up socials; while ensuring prospective client get a positive feel of our counseling center.

    Claire is currently a student at the University of Georgia majoring in Journalism with a focus in sports broadcasting. She loves to write and speak with the future hopes of being a sports journalist. In her free time, Claire love to cheer on the Dawgs, go to the beach, and read her Bible with a delicious cup of coffee.
